To date, I see no evidence that AI will surpass humans in research. It will remain a valuable tool.
Fully agree. When something became plentiful that was scarce before, it doesn't mean that scarcity is eliminated or even diminished overall. It moves downstream, shifts a real bottleneck and a place of value production. Abundance eliminates some previous bottlenecks, but creates its own problems, essentially of "trash". Think of the cheapness and abundance of plastic packaging and the trash problem it created.
The abundance of "answers" is similar. The internet is already drowning in AI slop, and the ability to sift through the trash (and to pose questions that essentially about navigating through information abundance) has become a very useful and discerning skill already.
