The alternative (B) would have been that there were originally demographically smaller Jomon and larger continental populations in Japan at some point. But that the continentals were martially incapable, so most of them suffered "kill the males and r*pe the women" fate.
A would be in line with a steady admixture over millenia, B a historically fairly brief event.
Just an additional comment: it is interesting that Jomon mtDNA contribution (15%) is more common that to the autosomal DNA (10%). Could be that continental DNA outside mtDNA and Y-chromosomes were simply fitter genes, but I can't think why it would be so global instead of just selectivity for X, Y or Z gene.
The other explanation could be that young females with known Jomon moms were higher status, so had a higher reproduction coefficient, compared to females with continental moms. While the young males survived and reproduced on their merit.
